There is a dangerous myth circulating in society about halitosis, and it’s causing pain and frustration for chronic bad breath sufferers everywhere. The misunderstanding I speak of is that brushing and flossing should be all you need to get rid of bad breath, and if you have bad breath, you are doing something wrong with your oral care. If you suffer from truly chronic bad breath, then you probably have a hunch that this is not the case at all. Chalk me up as one of those bad breath sufferers who knows the truth (the hard way).

You’re going to want to pay attention, because my own experiences with overcoming my chronic bad breath have given me a personal insight into the problem that most people do not have.

It can be nearly impossible to maintain a healthy social life when your breath is a persistent concern of yours. Even though most people are a bit too polite to tell you how bad your breath really is (with the exception of children… they’re a bit more honest), seeing people back away from you or turn their head when you’re speaking with them can be devastating to your self esteem.

So, what leads to this lack of information about how to truly cure bad breath? I put the blame squarely on those who are supposed to help us, our dentists. All they tend to do is give the same old rehashed advice; make sure you are brushing after every meal, flossing at night time, and using mouthwash every now and then. Still have a problem? Buy some mints. Not only does this not work, it causes an embarrassing situation when people think that the only reason you have bad breath is that you are dirty or don’t brush your teeth.

Trust me, the reason your friends and family never seem to have to worry about their breath as much as you do has nothing to do with them taking better care of their mouth. The true cause of bad breath is not plaque on your teeth, but a sulfur producing bacteria that finds the climate in your mouth very hospitable.

This sulfur, created by the bacteria, is the cause of your bad breath. It “chooses” you because your mouth happens to be more hospitable to this bacteria than many other people’s mouths.

In order to rid yourself of bad breath forever, you must think outside of the box. We’ve already established that proper oral care alone is not enough to stop these bacteria from flourishing. These bacteria absolutely despise a pH balanced environment. A key component to fighting bad breath will be oxygen.

Don’t beat your head against the wall and give up on having fresh breath. Bad breath is entirely possible to cure, but if brushing and flossing isn’t enough for you then it takes a different approach, and a different mindset to succeed.

This is a remedy for bad breath that has worked for a lot of people: Halitonic. Here is a cool way to make your fresh breath last throughout the day: How to Keep Fresh Breath All Day
